If I’d had my druthers, there would have been a deluxe edition of Jewel‘s recently released Greatest Hits. As it is, the single-disc compilation made room for three new recordings — duet versions of “Foolish Games” (with Kelly Clarkson) and “You Were Meant For Me” (with the Pistol Annies), plus one new solo song, current single “Two Hearts Breaking” — while skipping past the Alaskan singer-songwriter’s lesser-know singles and completely overlooking Jewel’s detour into dance music.

Now Rhino Records has somewhat remedied that disappointment with the release of The Greatest Hits Remixed. The digital-only 10-track set collects Jewel’s club hits from 2002-2007 — “Serve The Ego,” “Intuition,” and “Stand,” all of which reached #1 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart, plus “Only One Too,” which peaked at #12 — with each represented by a single remix. Whether Rhino picked the best one comes down to personal preference.

But what’s brand new on The Greatest Hits Remixed is to be celebrated, including freshly commissioned remixes of “Foolish Games” from Britain’s Cutmore (featuring Jewel’s new vocal but sans duet partner Kelly Clarkson) and “Standing Still” by Spain’s Juanjo Martin. Kicking off The Greatest Hits Remixed are four remixes of “Two Hearts Breaking,” with DJ Laszlo‘s revamp leading the pack as my favorite:
