As far as songs unlikely to be remixed, Rumer‘s “Slow” should have ranked highly to anyone familiar with its easy listening vibe. But over two years after the single’s U.S. release (April 2011 for calendar trackers), StoneBridge and Matt Joko have done an admirable job in putting a donk on the UK singer-songwriter’s Carpenters-esque ballad.
Speeding up Rumer’s ride was no doubt a challenge, but one that the Swedish DJ/producers more than met. The pair’s Revibe mix is tailored to today’s EDM tastes (preview here), but even better is StoneBridge’s solo mix which allows for a bit of breathing room. Deftly done, his Classic Radio Mix of “Slow” is the one I’ve got on repeat.
