Since today was Record Store Day, I felt it fitting to fete Blake Lewis‘ brilliant tale of lost love set in a record shop.

Though I swooned over “Heartbreak On Vinyl” back in November (“A groovy kind of love”), remixes of the track have taken Lewis to the top of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Club Play chart this week. Really, the beat-centric original could have been enough of a draw for DJs, but amping up the BPMs (and propelling the song to a #1 berth) are Bimbo Jones, LA Riots, Chew Fu, Danny Verde, Guy Sheiman, and Robbie Rivera (whew!). The re-do from Chew Fu is my current fave:
