Better late than never, the saying goes, and I’m super-duper tardy on JJAMZ’ single, “Heartbeat.”
JJAMZ is a Los Angeles supergroup of sorts, featuring Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley, Bright Eyes), James Valentine (Maroon 5), Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet), Michael Runion, and singer Z Berg (The Like). Three years after playing their first live gig together, JJAMZ released “Heartbeat” in May and their debut album, Suicide Pact, in July.
My pop radar was obviously on the fritz back then, but thanks to Justin Timberlake — specifically, the Myspace relaunch video, amazingly enough — and some successful Shazam action, “Heartbeat” is now part of my life.
