If you’re not already hooked on Weeds, ditch whatever drivel you’ve been vegging out to, because the fourth season of the Showtime series begins next Monday, June 16.
The last time we saw our favorite suburban drug dealer Nancy Botwin (played by the fantastic Mary Louise Parker), she’d torched her little box in the wildfire-threatened community of Agrestic and was contentedly leaving the scene on a Segway. This season, we’ll see what happens as she and her family (and business partners) make a go of it near the California-Mexico border.
I don’t know who or what will be harshing Nancy’s mellow this time around, but I know it’s going to be great television. In addition to featuring some of the best writing anywhere, Weeds boasts a terrific cast worth tuning in for, including Elizabeth Perkins, Justin Kirk, and Kevin Nealon. This season, Albert Brooks joins the fun for a few episodes, playing Nancy’s father-in-law. Here’s a preview of season numero cuatro:
Fair warning, Weeds fans: Series creator Jenji Kohan gave Entertainment Weekly a heads-up on one major change this season. Malvina Reynolds’ “Little Boxes” (and its many indie cover versions) has been retired as the show’s theme song.
Set your TiVo now—you don’t want to miss a moment of the pot-fueled dramedy. Weeds airs Mondays at 10/9 Central on Showtime.
