The third season of 30 Rock gets started tonight with our new First Lady of Comedy, Sarah Palin—er, Tina Fey—returning to her day job.
30 Rock earned seven Emmys back in September (including trophies for leads Alec Baldwin and Fey), so here’s hoping the goodwill (and Fey’s one-woman resuscitation of SNL) carries over to the superlative series. While Rock is absolutely deserving of the accolades it’s received, the behind-the-scenes comedy hasn’t quite pulled the sizable audience it deserves. Perhaps the third time will indeed be the charm.
As if you needed another reason to fall for Fey, check out these two clips from her visit to Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Tuesday. She chats about her daughter’s reaction to her Palin impersonation, and her close encounters with upcoming 30 Rock guest stars, Jennifer Aniston and Oprah:
30 Rock premieres tonight at 9:30/8:30 Central on NBC.
