Following the December release of “The Fear Inside,” the first single from his much-anticipated sophomore LP, Do It In The AM, and a handful of free non-album MP3s in the months that followed, today Frankmusik premiered the title song.
“Do It In The AM” features an assist from Cherrytree Records labelmates Far East Movement, with whom Frankmusik has previously collaborated. The artist also known as Vincent Frank appeared on “Fighting For Air” from the L.A. hip-pop group’s Free Wired album, subbed for Ryan Tedder on live performances of “Rocketeer,” and contributed a remix of the same track.
With all of the wait involved, “Do It In The AM” was bound to disappoint some longtime fans, whose expectations only had time to grow. I doubt it’ll go down as one of my favorite Frankmusik tracks, but it does have a fantastic singalong hook in its favor: “A to the M, then we do it again.” And that may be all Frankmusik needs to climb the charts, and set the stage for even better things.
Listen to “Do It In The AM,” plus three mixes, including one from Frankmusik himself.
“Do It In The AM” is released on May 3. Album release TBD.
