Originally touted for a September release, Queen Of Hearts‘ new EP, Warrior, arrived this week.
The four-song set features the sultry title track, produced by Diamond Cut, and another new number, the sparkling ’80s retro “Broken Dreams,” plus the London electropop artist’s luscious cover of Ben Howard’s “Only Love” and the AlunaGeorge remix of “Shoot The Bullet” (offered as a free download last year).
The music video for “Warrior,” produced by Diamond Cut, premiered last month. I think the clip, directed by Elliott Morgan is a miss. An ADD approach to outfits, hairstyles, settings, and lighting makes it impossible to connect to Queen Of Hearts. Following her first look and location all the way through “Warrior” would have been my suggestion, something more spellbinding to serve the song better.
“Warrior” has been remixed by Chad Valley and Mayeda & Panic City. No news on a release (free or otherwise) of those just yet.
