Someone’s been digging through the vaults at Warner Bros. Records.
After a consistent stream of leaked Madonna demos over the last two weeks, her manager, Guy Oseary, responded last night via Twitter to this rash of unreleased tunes hitting the Interweb: “I don’t know who is leaking all these demos. Feel free to let me know if you do.”
Some of these recordings are pretty rough, with just a gem or two in the bunch. Taken together, the nine leaked songs do provide an interesting behind-the-scenes peek at Madonna’s rarely seen recording process.
“Across The Sky” featuring Justin Timberlake, produced by Timbaland during the Hard Candy sessions:
“Animal,” also produced by Timbaland for Hard Candy.
“Broken (I’m Sorry),” produced by Paul Oakenfold for Madonna’s Celebration hits collection:
“If You Go Away,” a cover of Jacques Brel’s “Ne Me Quitte Pas,” recorded for Hello Suckers, a musical Madonna worked on with songwriter/producer Patrick Leonard that didn’t materialize:
“Infinity,” an early version of “Give It 2 Me” from Hard Candy:
“It’s So Cool,” 2002 and 2009 demos, ultimately re-recorded and released as a bonus track for the iTunes deluxe version of Celebration:
“Latte,” a collaboration between Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, and Danja for Hard Candy:
“Miss You,” an outtake from the American Life era, also recorded for the Hello Suckers project:
What do you think: Should Madonna give any of these tracks a proper release?
