Just a few days ago Melanie Amaro announced via Twitter that her debut album, Truly, has been pushed back. With neither of The X Factor‘s winner’s singles catching on — “Don’t Fail Me Now” did everywhere but the dance chart and “Love Me Now” precious few did — the news comes as no real surprise. Such delays happen with increasing frequency these days.
But while the album’s arrival has been shifted to some unspecified date, Amaro does have a new single. Just ahead of her scheduled return to The X Factor stage this Thursday, she’s released “Long Distance,” produced by Christopher “Tricky” Stewart (“Love Me Now”) and co-written by Bonnie McKee (Katy Perry, Britney Spears). Simon Cowell must be hoping that the third time is indeed the charm for his franchise’s first champ.
