Turn It Up

Robyn’s remix redux

Robyn has announced that the second and final single from Body Talk Pt. 2 will be “Indestructible.” Sort of. To the surprise of no one, but certainly no less welcome, the current ballad will get the remix treatment for the release, just as “Hang With Me,” the acoustic track that wrapped Body Talk Pt. 1, did. One needn’t posssess Jessica Fletcher-like sleuthing skills to have guessed Robyn’s plan for the song, though I would have liked “Love Kills” to get a chance to shine first.

“Indestructible,” in newly hyped-up forms, will be issued on November 22 (UK), with Body Talk Pt. 3 arriving a week later. The third installment of the trilogy is longer than the previous two, comprising something of a full album by pulling five tracks each from Robyn’s previous Body Talk EPs, plus five totally new melodic wonders. That should help you celebrate the holidays in true Cobrastyle.

But before we get distracted by dancefloor reworks of “Indestructible,” take a listen to the original version, which is pretty phenomenal as is. Backed solely by a string section, Robyn showcases some hardcore emotional strength:

Whatever the success of Robyn’s Body Talk trilogy (which certainly garnered a lot of press in the process), the Swede told the BBC she will not attempt a trio of successive releases again.

After her amazing “Two Hearts” run with Kelis over the summer, Robyn revisits North America in November for a 15-date tour with Natalia Kills and Maluca. Some dates have already sold out, so get your tickets now, because seeing Robyn sing and dance live is not to be missed.
