A Passion For Gatsby

“Take A Walk,” the stomping first single from Passion Pit‘s new album, Gossamer, recounted a sad state of financial affairs through the generations as inspired by frontman Michael Angelakos’ family ties. Second single, “Constant Conversations,” turns the tempo down to slow-jam, instead centering on hurt of the loving kind.

While “Take A Walk” elicited current comparisons to the problems faced by the 99%, the music video for “Constant Conversations” trains its lens on the 1% and woes of an entirely different sort. Directed by Dori Oskowitz, the clip centers on what amounts to a chichi key party held in the Hamptons. Peter Bogdanovich, Analeigh Tipton, Taryn Manning and Roger Guenveur Smith co-star alongside Angelakos, as do a snake and a rabbit.

As F. Scott Fitzgerald famously wrote in The Great Gatsby, “The rich are different that you and me.”
