Adam Lambert’s Sci-Fi ‘Eyes’

Adam Lambert currently holds the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with his sophomore album, Trespassing, released last week. With first-week sales of 77,000 copies, one of the lower totals in recent memory, Lambert is the first out gay artist to top the chart.

Today, Lambert debuted the music video for the second single from Trespassing, “Never Close Our Eyes,” whose co-writers include Bruno Mars and Dr. Luke. In the clip, directed by Dori Oskowitz, Lambert lives in some sort of futuristic facility, in which he and the other inhabitants are closely monitored, dispensed pills, and tasked with a square-foot of concrete to scrub clean. The singer stands out, not only because he’s obviously been given hair-dye privileges, but because he’s quite aware that something is amiss.

Eventually Lambert leads a small revolt, breaking free and transforming this dystopia into dance party.
