Video Premiere

Electric avenues

After their proper first single “Time to Pretend” hit a high of #26 on the Billboard Modern Rock Chart and played over the open to the hit film, 21, the boys of MGMT have lined up a worthy successor for even bigger things. Climbing over their psychedelic wall of distortion, the Brooklyn-based duo have set up shop on the dance floor.

A delicious disco concoction, “Electric Feel” rides a sinewy groove that features vocals reminiscent of Mick Jagger’s forays into falsetto. While MGMT has switched up the musical genre this time (keeping their indie vibe intact), the “Electric Feel” video is cut from the same low-budget chroma key cloth as its predecessor:

The clip above is actually of someone playing MGMT’s interactive “Electric Feel” music video game, which you can download for hours of at-home (or at-work) entertainment. There are reportedly 4,290,888 different ways the video can turn out.

Or treat your ears to the band’s debut, Oracular Spectacular (“Kids” is another standout track). MGMT is living up to the hype, having just played their first-ever festival set yesterday at Coachella.
