Escape to Bermuda

To most of the country, the thought of packing up and heading to a warmer climate probably sounds fantastic right about now. It’s supposed to be near 70 in the Bay Area today. (Don’t hate.)

Down at the southern end of California — where I’m sure it’s even warmer, so there — L.A. duo Kisses beckons you to “Bermuda.” A sunwashed riff on New Order, the song enjoyed a one-off single release last March, with Kisses’ debut album, The Heart Of The Nightlife arriving in November.

The “Bermuda” music video is a cut-and-paste job of clips from vacation-destination videocassettes that your local travel agent once had stacks of (if you’re old enough to remember either). The footage may be dated, but with its sunny shots of calming palm trees and bright blue waters, “Bermuda” provides a brief escape from the frigid temps just outside your window:

Purchase Kisses – “Bermuda” via iTunes, Amazon MP3. Over at the Kisses’ website, there’s a free download of another song, “People Can Do The Most Amazing Things.”
