Video Premiere

Flo’s bona drag

Hot off the heels of what was a huge highlight of Sunday’s 2010 MTV VMAs (if her whirling dervish of a dancecapade wasn’t the highlight), Florence + The Machine has released a video for their musical contribution to Twilight: Eclipse soundtrack, “Heavy In My Arms.”

As one might expect from such a filmic association (or really, from the flame-haired Flo’s usual oeuvre), “Heavy In My Arms,” is a dark and brooding tune, and now there’s a video to match the mood (captured in black and white, of course).

If, like me, you’re typically allergic to most things Twilight-related, have no fear: There’s nary a vampire in sight (though alas, no werewolf either). Hear here:

Florence + The Machine didn’t leave the Nokia Theater empty-handed, with only accolades for a show-stopping performance (seen by a record-setting audience to boot). Nominated in four categories, “Dog Days Are Over” took home the Moonman for Best Art Direction.

Florence + The Machine will be back in the States soon for an upcoming extended U.S. tour. Having witnessed Ms. Welch do what she does live earlier this year, I’ve already got my ticket, and I suggest not skipping the chance to see for yourself what the fuss about Flo is all about.

“Heavy In Your Arms” isn’t available as a single download, so if you want get your hands on the song, you’ll have to purchase The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack via iTunes (which features tunes from Metric, Muse, Sia, Fanfarlo, Cee-Lo Green, and more).
