Got any cheese, Cee Lo?

Fresh off this weekend’s Lollapalooza gig, for which he donned an outfit best described as ‘Linebacker Mad Max,’ Cee Lo Green has premiered a new music video for “Cry Baby,” from The Lady Killer.

If you’re keeping count, “Cry Baby” is the fifth single to be pulled from the album, but like the remix of “I Want You” that surfaced in June with a fantastic Liberace-inspired video, the promo target for “Cry Baby” appears to be the UK.

It was only last week that the remix of Cee Lo’s “Bright Lights Bigger City” featuring Wiz Khalifa became available for download, a track he’s been tirelessly flogging on TV for a while. Plus the new “Cry Baby” clip is tagged “Warner Music UK,” which is a pretty good tip-off.

The answer may lie with how familiar UK audiences are with ’90s sitcom Family Matters. Because playing the role of Cee Lo in “Cry Baby” is Jaleel White, the actor who played nerdy neighbor Urkel on the TGIF classic for nine seasons. Set on a studio backlot, “Cry Baby” is all very Hairspray in costuming, choreography, and feel.
