Haley Reinhart‘s debut single, “Free,” has a great back-to-basics sound that’s been matched by the song’s new music video (give or take a few decades).

Using diners for backdrops and interior shots, the clip’s retro spirit carries through to Reinhart’s ’50s-era outfits and hair styles. The last-season American Idol vet is a natural on camera, though I’m not so keen on the spinning camera moves. If you’ve recently eaten, you might want to wait a few minutes before clicking play.

Reinhart’s debut album, Listen Up!, is due May 22.
