MS MR – “Fantasy”

Though I didn’t compile a list, MS MR‘s Candy Bar Creep Show was one of the better EPs released last year. The New York-based goth pop duo’s single, “Hurricane,” did touch down at #73 on Popservations’ Top 100 Tracks of 2012.

Deservedly, “Hurricane” will make a return appearance on MS MR’s major-label debut, Secondhand Rapture, set for release on May 14. Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow recently premiered a new song from the album, the Florence + The Machine-like “Fantasy,” with its music video arriving today.

“Shot on location in Jamaica, Queens with our dear friend and talented director Austin Peters, the video for ‘Fantasy’ stays true to the main themes and questions behind the track: things we imagine or think we understand are not as they appear,” MS MR explains. “This video presents a world filled with fantasies gone wrong where the mundane, the surreal, and the supernatural are all intertwined and what is real becomes a matter of perspective.”

If your fantasies involve the spewing of glitter, you’re in for a real treat. It’s certainly not mundane.
