Watch Britney lose it (in a good way)

Britney Spears loses it and has a load of fun doing so in the music video for her latest Femme Fatale single, “I Wanna Go.” She tells the press to f–k themselves, cops a feel, feels a cop, and fends off paparazzi by wielding a microphone.

Directed by Chris Marrs Piliero (Ke$ha’s “Blow”), the video also packs in a whistling baby and a trio of whistling dogs — “I Wanna Go” being the ‘whistling song’ on Femme Fatale — Guillermo from Weeds giving himself a milk facial, and references to several films, including Half-Baked, Britney’s big-screen bomb Crossroads (the clip’s best visual joke and a dig at Die Hard), and The Terminator, before wrapping with a nod to Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” video.

Of course, it’s not the first time Britney’s mined the whole “Evil Press” concept for a music video (MTV has a comprehensive historical survey), and “I Wanna Go” seems to fly off the crazy-rails in parts (seashells, the aforementioned milk bukkake), but there’s a cheekiness to the new clip that makes it approach some of Britney’s best comedic turns (see “Toxic,” “Womanizer”).
