The Good Natured’s X-Static Process
December 10, 2012 0 CommentsWhile working on their debut album this year, The Good Natured treated us to a couple of ‘bedroom covers’ (Fine Young Cannibals, Dead Or Alive) and a mixtape that included a collaboration with synthpop pioneer Vince Clarke (“Ghost Train”).
Now (the very good) The Good Natured has come forward with “5-HT,” a new studio concoction made with producer Richard X. “5-HT is a chemical within the human body which helps to release serotonin in our brains,” explains singer/keyboardist Sarah McIntosh. “The song explores the contrast between love and pain, and the notion that love is a drug.”
Roxy Music, of course, famously delivered the very same notion in song, but it certainly didn’t sound like Republica meets Underworld. I much prefer The Good Natured’s ’90s-referencing fantasia.
The English trio’s new music video for “5-HT” provides quite the rush as well.
We’ve got quite a while to wait before the official release of “5-HT.” The Good Natured’s new single isn’t out until March 15, with remixes by Kat Krazy and Ghostwerk as well as the band’s cover of “She Drives Me Crazy.”
