The Killers Return To The Brightside

It would seem that The Killers’ tour performance video for second Battle Born single, “Miss Atomic Bomb,” was but a placeholder for the more epic clip that the band premiered today.

Looking to the past, The Killers’ new “Miss Atomic Bomb” video plays as a companion to their own “Mr. Brightside” (the guitar in the song’s bridge also harkens back). Reuniting the “Mr. Brightside” cast almost a decade later, what’s different this time around? Well, the video is a mix of animation and live-action, ballet has replaced burlesque, and Brandon Flowers has retired the eyeliner (but Benjamin Button-style, looks even younger now). I don’t believe director Sophie Muller returned, but I’ve yet to find information to confirm just who was behind the lens.

And here is the “Mr. Brightside” video because you know you want to take a look:

Furthering the connection between the two songs, there are actually two “Mr. Brightside” music videos, with a performance version preceding Muller’s much grander vision.

Besides pushing “Miss Atomic Bomb,” The Killers are also out with their annual Christmas charity single (and music video), remember.
