Sequels aren’t terribly common in music videos today, if ever they were. Madonna’s “Take A Bow” and “You’ll See” immediately come to mind as does Guns N’ Roses’ (loose) trilogy of “Don’t Cry,” “November Rain,” and “Estranged.” But now French electro outfit M83 comes along to fill the languishing void with a music video for “Reunion” that continues the supernatural storyline of last fall’s “Midnight City.”

I’d opined then that “Midnight City” played as the first chapter of a larger story to come — a beginning and middle without any resolution — but the fittingly titled “Reunion” doesn’t put a bow on what’s possessing these telekinetic kids either. Again directed by Fleur & Manu, it’s probably a safe bet to assume that M83 has a trilogy (or more) in the works.
