There’s A ‘Catch’ To Kelly Clarkson’s Greatest Hits

Kelly Clarkson has released a lyric video for “Catch My Breath.”

Inspired by the 10th anniversary of her American Idol win that launched her singing career, Clarkson’s new single (out now) is one of three new tracks included on her Greatest Hits – Chapter One, arriving November 19.

Here’s the tracklisting for Greatest Hits – Chapter One:

01 “Since U Been Gone”
02 “My Life Would Suck Without You”
03 “Miss Independent”
04 “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”
05 “Behind These Hazel Eyes”
06 “Because Of You”
07 “Never Again”
08 “Already Gone”
09 “Mr. Know It All”
10 “Breakaway”
11 “Don’t You Wanna Stay” (with Jason Aldean)
12 “Walk Away”
13 “Catch My Breath”
14 “People Like Us”
15 “Don’t Rush” (featuring Vince Gill)
16 “A Moment Like This”
17 “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”

Most of Clarkson’s chart hits are included, with “I Do Not Hook Up” most obviously missing. One could also make an argument for “Low” and a repeat of “Because Of You” in Reba McEntire duet form. The set is sadly, if not unsurprisingly light on My December. It would have been a nice gesture to include “Sober” to bring some new attention to her unfairly overlooked/maligned 2006 album. I’d also suggest swapping the studio version of “Already Gone” (from 2009’s All I Ever Wanted) with this understated live take to erase any lingering memories of the “Halo” soundalike drama.

Clarkson’s label, RCA, did slightly revise the cover art for Greatest Hits – Chapter One after a less than enthusiastic response, so maybe a second look at the tracklisting is also in order.
