Track of the Moment / Video Premiere

Totally tubular

This past Thursday, Robyn premiered the music video for “Indestructible.” It’s the first single from the Swedish electro-popper’s final 2010 release, Body Talk, which is technically the third installment of her much buzzed-about trilogy though no number’s in the title this time. Still tracking? “Indestructible” originally appeared in a different form on Body Talk Pt. 2, but now has a pulsating beat in place of the previous version’s strings.

Expressing her undying devotion to the object of her affection — “I’m gonna love you like I’ve never been hurt before” — Robyn wraps her pledge in part by singing “This is hardcore.” And based on the scenes of heavy-duty making out and rolling around in the video, she means it, though it’s really not all that NSFW. Steamy, sure, but we’re not talking nip-slips.

Clad in a dress constructed of clear rubber tubing, Robyn sings about being indestructible as various colors of liquid course through her outfit. Her scenes are intercut with couples getting intimate (clothes on, clothes off, clothes on), though you’ll notice the female partner remains the same throughout. Robyn is somehow connected to all of this sexy time, with the liquid turning black by the end, signifying all of these different colors have combined, just as you learned when you first fingerpainted in Kindergarten. Play safe, kids:

Robyn stops by tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl (The CW, 9/8c), performing a mini-set during Blair’s birthday blowout. Body Talk, which compiles tracks from Pts. 1 and 2, plus five new songs, is out November 22. Remixes of “Indestructible” by Laidback Luke, The Krays, Pitron & Sanna, and Laserkraft are scheduled to hit the week before (at least overseas).

UPDATE 11/2: The single edit from Body Talk has been released.
