Wynter Gordon has premiered the video for “TKO,” a song taken from her forthcoming EP, Sanguine. The second chapter in the singer-songwriter’s Human Condition series was originally expected in October, but Gordon now tells Billboard that she’s releasing Sanguine on January 15.
First installment Doleo sported seven tracks, but Gordon hasn’t revealed whether Sanguine includes additional songs beyond “TKO” and two others, “Tomorrow” and “Lucky Ones,” that she posted on SoundCloud back in September. (As then, all remain available for download.)
While I still prefer “Tomorrow” and “Lucky Ones,” Gordon’s new music video for “TKO” does exactly what a music video should do: Make me love the song more than I did prior to watching. Filmed in New York City’s Lower East Side and Chinatown, Gordon’s undeniable on-camera presence and the clip’s mix of grit, glam, and graphics move the needle. This “TKO” is a total knockout.
